A complete guide to mastering your matches
1. Create Your Free Account
Getting started with Pocket-Tracker takes less than a minute. Visit the registration page and create your account using either your email address or Google Sign-In. There is no cost, no trial period, and no premium tier β every feature is available to you immediately.
Once registered, you'll be taken to the main dashboard where all of Pocket-Tracker's tools are at your fingertips.
2. Using Real-Time Deck Prediction
The deck prediction engine is Pocket-Tracker's flagship feature. It helps you identify your opponent's deck as the match progresses by comparing the cards you see against thousands of verified tournament decklists.
How to Use It
- Start a prediction session: When your match begins, open the prediction panel in Pocket-Tracker.
- Log observed cards: Each time your opponent plays a card or places one on the bench, select it in Pocket-Tracker. You can search cards by name.
- Watch probabilities update: After each card you log, the engine recalculates which known decklists match. Probability bars show you the most likely decks.
- Narrow it down: With just 2-3 observed cards, you can often narrow the possibilities to a handful of decks. By mid-game, you'll usually know the exact list your opponent is running.
Tips for Better Predictions
Log cards as early as possible β even a single Pokemon on the bench can eliminate many possibilities. Pay attention to Item and Supporter cards, as these often differ between deck variants and help the engine distinguish between similar builds.
3. Hand Deduction β Know What They're Holding
Once you've identified your opponent's deck (or locked in a specific decklist), the hand deduction feature takes your game to the next level. It tracks the probability of each card being in your opponent's current hand.
How It Works
- Lock in a decklist: Select the identified deck from the prediction results, or manually enter your opponent's decklist if you already know it (useful in competitive formats with open decklists).
- Track game actions: Log draws, plays, and shuffles as they happen. The engine maintains a probabilistic model of your opponent's hand at all times.
- Read the probabilities: Each card in the decklist shows a percentage indicating how likely it is to be in your opponent's hand right now. Use this to plan your plays β for example, if there's a high chance they're holding a specific Supporter, you can play around it.
Hand deduction is especially powerful in the late game when the deck has been thinned and probabilities become more precise. It transforms guesswork into informed decision-making.
4. Managing Your Decklists
Pocket-Tracker includes a full deck management system so you can organize all your builds in one place.
- Import decks: Paste your decklist in standard format (the same format used by Pokemon TCG Pocket and tournament platforms) and Pocket-Tracker will parse it automatically.
- Track performance: Each deck tracks its own win/loss record. See your winrate at a glance and identify which decks perform best for you.
- Matchup breakdown: View how each of your decks performs against specific opponent archetypes. Identify favorable and unfavorable matchups to guide your deck selection.
- Match history: Browse your complete match history filtered by deck. Review past games, read your notes, and learn from your results.
5. Recording Match Results
After each game, record the result in Pocket-Tracker to build your match history and track your performance over time.
- Quick entry: Select your deck, choose the opponent's archetype, mark win or loss, and optionally add notes about the game.
- Winrate tracking: Your overall winrate and per-deck winrates update automatically. Watch trends develop as you play more games.
- Season filtering: Filter your results by season to see how you're performing in the current competitive period.
Consistent match recording is one of the best habits you can develop as a competitive player. It turns your intuition about matchups into data-driven knowledge.
6. Best-of Match
Pocket-Tracker's Best-of Match is designed for tournament-style play with open decklists. It supports Best-of-1, Best-of-3, and Best-of-5 formats.
- Enter your opponent's decklist: In open decklist formats, paste your opponent's list before the match begins.
- Full hand deduction per game: Each game in the series gets its own hand deduction session, so probabilities reset correctly between games.
- Series tracking: Pocket-Tracker tracks wins across the series and shows the current score.
This mode is ideal for community tournaments, ladder challenges, and any competitive event where decklists are shared before play begins.
7. Ranked Season Tracker
Monitor your ranked season progression with Pocket-Tracker's built-in ranked tracker.
- Point tracking: Your ranked points update automatically from match results. Use Recalibrate to sync with your in-game rank, and see your progression graphed over time.
- Winrate analysis: Track your ranked winrate separately from casual play to understand your competitive performance.
- Trend spotting: Visual graphs help you identify when you're on a winning streak, when you're tilting, and when it might be time to take a break.
8. Meta Dashboard
The Meta Dashboard gives you a complete overview of the current competitive metagame, powered by real tournament data.
- Archetype heatmap: A visual treemap shows the relative usage of every archetype in the metagame. Larger cells mean more popular decks. Click any archetype to drill deeper.
- Deck variants: Each archetype contains multiple variants. See how they differ card by card, compare usage and win rates, and find the exact build that fits your playstyle.
- Full decklists: View the complete decklist for any variant, along with the tournament players who used it and their placements.
- Matchup grid: Check win rates against every other archetype in the meta. Color-coded cells make it easy to spot favorable and unfavorable matchups at a glance.
- Import to My Decks: Found a list you like? Import it directly to your deck collection with one click.
Use the Meta Dashboard before queuing to understand what you'll face, or after a session to research decks that gave you trouble.
